Spangler Subaru Blog

What do we do at Spangler Subaru when we have a bit too much time on our hands? The correct answer is to say that never happens. However, on our fifteen minute coffee breaks, sometimes we get a few strange ideas and we just sort of roll with them. See below for our list of a few car/fictional character look-alikes. Feel free to post your own ideas in the comments!

Fiat 500 and Gollum/Smeagol (Lord of the Rings)

They are both small, compact, and really, really annoying. Hopefully the Fiat doesn’t drive its passengers to a secret spider hideout.

Cadillac CTS and a Hippogriff (Harry Potter)

Hippogriffs originate in ancient Roman times, first mentioned by the poet Virgil. Though they are not mentioned often, they are a symbol for Apollo.

Hyundai Elantra and Kylo Ren (Star Wars)

We’re pretty sure Kylo Ren has more efficient and faster intergalactic transportation than the Elantra, but it could have served him when he visited Starkiller Base as local transport.

Jeep Wrangler and the Babadook (The Babadook)

Look at the square hat, and the circular eyes, and that grille. Fortunately we don’t think the Wrangler is a projection of the unconscious.

Chrysler Pacifica and Hodor (Game of Thrones)

It’s big. It’s slow. It can’t read….but it can carry a lot. Should we say much more about it? We know, we may have just made Game of Thrones fans and Mopar fans equally mad, and if you are a fan of both then we may just have become enemy #1, but you have got to admit, there is a resemblance between Hodor and the Pacifica.

Dodge Challenger Demon and Pennywise the Clown (It)

It could be Pennywise’s face paint or maybe it’s just his hair. There’s the connotation that these are both evil as well.

Chrysler 300 and Jar-Jar Binks (Star Wars)

We are sorry Chrysler, but you are a really easy brand to pick on. The length of the 300 and the length of Jar-Jar’s snout are just too long. We realize this is a bit of a stretch, but what is a comical list of fictional characters without Jar-Jar?

Honda Fit and Barry the Bee (The Bee Movie)

We don’t actually have anything here except they are both small and yellow.

Honda Civic and the Wicked Witch of the West (Wizard of Oz)

Her nose’s shape has the same aerodynamics as the Civic, and the same color. But it’s not outdone by our last example:

Kia Soul and Shrek

Do we need to say anything?
