Spangler Subaru Blog

As part of our ongoing commitment to the community, and our dedication to the Subaru Love Promise, we bring you the Subaru Loves to Care event in June. For another year in a row, we will be delivering blankets to cancer patients at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center at the end of June.

Along with those blankets, we will also be delivering Messages of Hope written by our customers. You can find cardstock, markers, and deposit boxes in both the lounge and showroom at our dealership. Please fill out a Message of Hope. You never know how a simple positive sentence can change a person’s day.

As in previous years, we are also partnering with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LLS). A representative will join us to help deliver the blankets and Messages of Hope. Want more information on LLS and the type of cancers they battle? You can read more on my blog here.

This year we have added a new feature to the mix. Explaining cancer to a child can be difficult. To help do this, we have placed several copies of The Puddle Jumper’s Guide to Kicking Cancer in our lounge. It tells the story of 9-year old Gracie, who is diagnosed with Leukemia. As seen through her eyes, she tells us about her treatment and condition as she works her way through beating cancer. It is easy to understand for children, and sheds a positive light on an otherwise nefarious diagnosis.

Feel free to stop in and read the book to your children, grandchildren, or even by yourself. We just ask that you leave the copy in our lounge so that others have a chance to read it as well.
