The 7th Annual Pet Trick or Treat
Subaru Loves Pets®, which is historically launched during the month of October, is always an enthusiastic time around Spangler Subaru. There are several tenets at the core of the Subaru brand, and pets is one that often leads the way. Pets are so easy to love because of how they love us first, and Subaru drivers are often enjoying adventures with their furry ones, hand-in-paw. That is why, for one month out of the year, we turn our focus to helping local, adoptable pets in need, so that they can experience this love with their best friends.
Once again, we teamed up with the Humane Society of Cambria County to support these local, adoptable pets. At the forefront, we donated funds through a grant, administered by the ASPCA®, that went directly to our local shelter. But our commitment did not stop there. We continued our initiative by hosting our 7th Annual Pet Trick or Treat event, which was, once again, held at Windber Recreational Park.
We began by parking several new Subaru vehicles around the area, including new 2025 Subaru Outback Limited and Wilderness models, a new 2024 Subaru Ascent Onyx Edition XT, two new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek models, and a new 2025 Subaru Forester Touring. Here, both employees and local Boy Scouts volunteered to hand out treats, while pets, dressed up in costumes, pulled their parents around the park to collect goodies at each vehicle. They then had the opportunity to play at the Doggy Carnival Games, where they could lick peanut butter off the witch’s broom, find a treat hidden in a pumpkin, or pick out a Chewbaru Crosstrek Wilderness pet plush toy designed by Bark.
While they were dressed in their spookiest costumes, pets had the opportunity to get professional portraits taken by Kristy Lynn Photography, where they stood in front of a backdrop full of cobwebs and skeletons. Finally, each pet could enter the costume contest, where we awarded six category winners a bag full of Subaru gear and a Petco gift card, and ten honorable mentions received a pet supply bag. Winners of the costume contest included a Jurassic Park theme, complete with a containment area and theme music, and a special needs dog dressed up as a cotton candy machine.
All proceeds from the 7th Annual Pet Trick or Treat went to the Humane Society of Cambria County, which adds additional contributions on top of the grant. It was another incredible afternoon and we look forward to next year’s event!
