Throughout the 2024-2025 school year, three students with the Greater Johnstown Career and Technology Center worked part-time in our Service Department to further hone their skills while finishing out high school. Just before graduation, we had the privilege of offering all three students employment contracts.

Donating Native Trees to Local Residents

We partnered with the Arbor Day Foundation during Subaru Loves the Earth to hand out trees to residents in the Johnstown and Somerset area. Each tree planted is native to Western Pennsylvania, and will provide several benefits for our local ecosystem.

The 2025 Greater Johnstown Auto Expo Recap

For the 2nd straight year, we drove a handful of new Subaru models into the Galleria Mall to showcase at the Greater Johnstown Auto Expo. Parked right outside of JCPenney, our sales personnel stayed very busy as shoppers weaved in and out of our inventory for three straight days.

Handing Out Coats and Shoes/Socks to Children in Need

During Subaru Loves to Help, we partnered with Operation Warm and the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA to hand out coats and shoes/socks to children in need. The event took place during a snowstorm, which further highlighted the need to deliver these supplies, as some children in the area do not have basic attire to withstand the winter elements.

Santa's Reindeer Come for a Magical Visit

Spruce Ridge Reindeer brought their majestic reindeer for another visit to our dealership to kick of the 2024 Subaru Share the Love Event. Sunset Farms Photography captured the moments when families visited Santa's helpers. All proceeds from the event went to benefit Conemaugh Valley Conservancy.

Spangler Subaru Sponsors Outstanding Young Woman Contestant

Julia is competing in the annual Cambria-Somerset Outstanding Young Woman Scholarship Program. This program, which is in its 25th year, awards many local college-bound women with scholarships and funds to help cover their future studies. For the sponsorship, Julia agreed to come to the dealership and model with a new 2025 Subaru Outback Wilderness.

The 7th Annual Pet Trick or Treat

We held our 7th annual Pet Trick or Treat event at Windber Recreational Park! All proceeds from the event went to the Humane Society of Cambria County, who we continue to partner with during Subaru Loves Pets. We posted six brand new Subaru models around the park, and pets dragged their pet parents along to collect treats at each point.

For the second year in a row, we have hosted the volunteer-led Greater Alleghenies Light the Night. This walk is a solemn moment to support those who are battling blood cancer, remember those who ultimately lost their fights, and raise funds for the continuing research and care.

Take me out to the ball game!

1...2...3 strikes you're out! The AAABA Tournament has been a staple in the Johnstown community for many years and has continued through some of the city's most daunting challenges. In order to continue this tradition, the Oldtimers Association has the help of the AAABA Ambassadors - a group of young women who fundraise and make appearances during the event. We had the privilege of sponsoring two, Jacie and Maddie, who each posed with a Subaru model - a new 2024 Subaru WRX and a new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek, respectively.

Delivering Blankets to Cancer Patients

The previous seven years, we have partnered with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to deliver blankets to cancer patients currently receiving treatment at Conemaugh Hospital's Cancer Care Center. We packed up a brand new 2024 Subaru Ascent with 80 warm blankets that pack away to double as a pillow, wittingly shaped like a heart.

The Subaru Share the Love Event Check Presentation

Every three years, we choose a local charity partner during the Subaru Share the Love Event. During this event, new Subaru owners have the choice of selecting among four national charities or a local non-profit where they want to send a $250 donation, payable by Subaru of America, Inc. This is the second year we have partnered with Conemaugh Valley Conservancy as our local charity.

Healthy Kids Running Series has been promoting an active and healthy lifestyle for children for over ten years. Many Subaru drivers, such as those who drive Subaru Outback models, are very active outdoors, so it only makes sense that we should encourage children to pursue healthy, outdoor passions.

Our Semi-Annual Adopt-A-Highway Clean Up

For the past few years, we have been a part of Pennsylvania's Adopt-A-Highway Program where we sponsor a two-mile section of Route 403 that starts at the northern portion of Somerset County and runs south into Tire Hill, passing Greenhouse Park along the way. We like to help keep this section clean of debris for the many local Subaru owners who drive through here daily.

Employees Volunteer with SEADS Garden Center

SEADS Garden Center has a unique mission. Not only does the organization provide the floral and gardening necessities for local homeowners, they also employ adults with disabilities. Many of these adults possess the functioning to perform in many work environments, but are often not given the opportunity and patience to learn. To help prep for the season, Spangler Subaru sent several employees to plant blossoms.

Spangler Subaru Partners with Operation Warm

On a cold day in February, we loaded up a 2024 Subaru Ascent with 144 pairs of brand new coats and shoes/socks and drove them to the Greater Johnstown Community YMCA in downtown Johnstown. Here, several Spangler Subaru employees guided children through to help them find the attire that they desperately needed.
